Crossing Over the Land—portraits and interviews, 2009

Crossing Over the Land was a project and an exhibition composed of photographs and interviews that Wiggins created in the occupied territories of Palestine. Wiggins met with several Palestinians in their homes and in different locations in the West Bank and spoke with them about their lives under occupation. Haneen and Murad spoke about the history of the Dheisheh refugee camp and their lives in the camp. Abu Musa told the story he was writing of two men from Akka and their journey across the land after the Nakba. Wiggins also took photographs at the Lettuce Festival in Artas, a yearly spring celebration of the fertility of the Palestinian land. These photographs and interviews, along with several others, were exhibited at the International Center in Bethlehem (Dar Annadwa).

The interviews can be downloaded below as PDFs here: Abu Masa, Murad, Haneen.
